For those interested in the #Bitcoin mining news coming out of China

I’ve had 300-400MW of mining machines contact me to help them distribute their machines across NA and some parts of EU. Some have also begun shipping machines to Kazakhstan. 🧵 ASICs already mining are primarily coming from Xinjiang (mostly coal powered) and moving to nearby regions in Central Asia.

1/More and more miners are taking advantage of energy grid load balancing initiatives, allowing them to consume electricity at rates as low as <0.02 USD per kWh.

How do they achieve such low cost of electricity, and how does ASIC firmware play a role? 2/Let's start in Texas, where these programs are common.

Miners are signing up to be a "controllable load resource." In simple terms, this means miners' enjoy extremely low electricity prices in exchange for redirecting/reselling their power during peak consumption times.
