In the light of #WorldRefugeeDay, Arezo Kohistany, co-founder and director of Yalda Hakim Foundation shares what it means to be denied, fight for, and protect the right to education for girls in Afghanistan. "Through new partnerships and a new organization called the Afghan Future Fund, we’ve grown our programming. We are working to provide scholarships and placements for 250 or more Afghan students evacuated to third countries."

Yalda Hakim Foundation (YHF) is pleased to announce that it has successfully evacuated 41 at-risk Afghans, including three female American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) scholars, Negina Ishaqzai, Nikbakht Iqbalzada, and Hamasa Zeerak, and their families, to the U.S. Negina, Nikbakht, and Hamasa, were 2019 recipients of the Yalda Hakim scholarship. YHF continues to support the three scholars with their educational and professional advancement in the U.S.
