So someone has forwarded me the PDF of Mythic Polynesia by The Design Mechanism. From what I have seen so far this is one of the more egregiously racist TTRPG books in recent years.

So naturally, as a masochist, I am going to go through and comment on choice parts. A🧵 Lets start here.

As far as I can tell, none of these people are from Polynesia or claim whakapapa to Tangata Moana of any kind. Most notable is the artists are european. I highlight this as cooption of our visual culture is very hot water, at least in Aotearoa

So Mythic Polynesia is out. Parts I have seen are deeply offensive. Design Mechanism is dead to me. What a piece of absolute imperialist trash.
