51 defendants, every single one found guilty.

These men are not monsters, they are men. Men who were fathers, husbands, lorry drivers, supermarket workers, military. Men in their 20’s to their 70’s. Men from a similar location. All willing to rape an unconscious elderly woman. These were the men in one location in a rural town in France. If you can find them there, you will find them everywhere. This is no doubt happening in many over places.

Opportunistic men who are using online forums to abuse women. 30 of her rapists have never been found.

Gaia’s story is heartbreaking. Failed by those she tried to seek help from. Groomed online. Triggered by being sent indecent images.

We need reformed empathy training in the police to respond correctly to victims of sexual assault, abuse and harassment. (Thread) I reported being sexually assaulted to the police who never called me back or turned up to take a statement, It took 4 days of chasing and 3 different stations, a sergeant who insinuated I could be lying to my friend who he called before even calling me back, told her they..

What I don’t understand about the OnlyFans situation is that a huge chunk of the company was bought in 2018 by Leonid Radvinsky, a Ukrainian with over 20 years history in owning and running porn sites. Making money from sex workers is literally his thing. Radvinsky has refused all interviews but in an article for Forbes in June 2021 their investigative piece does not paint him in a good light. In the early 00’s he had a handful of sites linked to leaked celeb tapes and created MyFreeCams a site claiming to be the first of its kind

OnlyFans not only provided a safe space for sex workers but it created a huge swath of sex workers too. So many women and men who would never have thought of becoming a SWer took that huge leap because of the platform and how SW was framed and glamourised by the media. (THREAD) Behind the headlines of people making a months rent in two days and buying houses outright, the reality is that only a very small percent of creators earn upwards of £100,000 on the platform. And unless you’re a celeb, to get there you have to promote yourself online- for free.

This hugely important report lays bare the sheer scale of violence towards women in today’s society. I completed this survey. We cannot continue to make excuses for men whilst thousands of women are being subjected to violence. No more normalisation. #IThoughtItWasJustAPartOfLife ‘Not All Men’, but certainly almost all women. Sexual harassment and assault has become a part of our every day life. When did society decide to accept that? Read the full compelling report by @Victim_Focus here: victimfocus.org.uk/womens_experie… #IThoughtItWasJustAPartOfLife

You understand you have to pay for your plumber to fix your tap.

You’re happy to tip your waiter for providing a service.

You wouldn’t get your car back without paying for the MOT.

But you feel entitled to view images of a woman’s naked body for free? Sounds like you just hate women who make money off of their bodies.

But wait! You cheer on female athletes at the Olympics?

You stand for a minute’s silence to respect soldiers?

You drink coffee where beans are farmed by children?

Ah, so you only hate sexual physical jobs.
