The Bangalore police say they can't afford to verify the documents of migrant labourers and that Aadhaar etc. aren't enough. So they evicted anyone who speaks Hindi and Bengali and razed their homes to the ground.

deccanherald.com/city/bengaluru… Here's an update. The BBMP has clarified that this was illegal and called for the suspension of the engineer who authorized it. Just a suspension.

And why did this happen? Because people from nearby apartments complained. This is how class works.
