As we commemorate this year’s Anti-Torture Day, @UHRCUGANDA and the CAT wish to note the following developments by the Ugandan govt (2012 - 2020) that are aimed it realising the full enjoyment of the right to freedom from #torture.

#StopTortureUG #Thread Legal developments: @Parliament_Ug enactment of the Prevention and Prohibition of Torture Act, 2012 in Sept. 2012 and the 2017 Regulations were passed in Nov. 2016. This provides for a strong legal framework to combat #torture.
