For those out there raising puppies, I’ve got a little trick for you that truly works. As you know when the pup is misbehaving, you have to correct it immediately. Sanctioning a pup after it’s misbehaved teaches it nothing & slows the training process. The pup will be confused. Get yourself some old keys (that jingle), put them on a keyring, and tie a bright ribbon to it.

When the pup is chewing on something it’s not supposed to be chewing, toss them (lightly) and the pup’s butt. Then give him a toy he can chew on and lots of praise. #dogtraining

53 years ago today, I arrived at Tan Son Nhut Air Base where a Spec 4 at a small table greeted me, “Merry Fucking Christmas, Sir.”

Here is a bit what my next year would look like:

1/10 All too often rich, old, white men send our best and brightest off to die on foreign battlefields, telling them they’re fighting for peace, but then, all’s well that Orwells.

We are about to enter a new world, and it took a pandemic to open the door.

We need new leadership, with new ideas. Fearless people unafraid of cries of cries of SOCIALISM.

The masses are done paying for the excesses of the few. Imagine a world where the commons are owned by the people; hospitals, prisons, colleges.

Where business can flourish, but their costs will be privatized; they will pay for their externalities.

Today, I'd like you to meet some friends of mine.

First I'd like you to meet Warrant Officer David Caplan. He was my roommate in advance helicopter flight school. Polishing our boots was a daily chore, until we became Senior Warrant Officer Candidates. Then we could relax. At our graduation, his parents showed up. I had no family who could make it, so his mother pinned my wings on my chest.

I arrived in Nam before Caplan, but when I'd heard he was in country, I passed a greeting onto him via one of his friends from his new unit.
