For nearly two months, @LMPD Interim Chief Robert Schroeder has declined to testify openly at Metro Council -- first by walking out, then via lawsuit. Now the KY Appeals Court has denied his appeal, which means he must testify openly today at 1:30. I’m following tonight’s protests remotely via livestream. Asked LMPD some questions about reports that a 14-year-old was slammed to ground by police and protesters were shot at from rooftops. Here’s what spox Jessie Halladay said: Image https://t.co/yYVwpqYpyU

Black Lives Matter protesters have blocked off the Second Street bridge to Indiana. Police are blocking the entry to the bridge, and there are squad cars and tow trucks on the bridge. ImageImage A small group of officers is walking toward the center of the bridge. Can’t see much at all from here on Main St.

.@louisvillemayor and @LMPD have outdone themselves. We got an advisory at 3:43 p.m. about an in-person briefing at 4 p.m. downtown. During a pandemic. When people are working from home. Last week, when I commented to one of his press people that they haven’t been giving us enough notice, his response was literally 🤷🏻.

On Monday, I and others shared that breonnataylor.com redirected to a site that was fundraising for the Louisville Metro Police Foundation.

Now it goes immediately to the official GoFundMe for Breonna Taylor's family, which has raised nearly $3 million to date. It appears the site was updated on June 3, the same day the GoFundMe went live.

A protester was shot and killed in Louisville last night. Are police wearing body cameras (and are they're turned on)? I asked Amy Hess, chief of public safety, this yesterday. Ahe said:

"I believe that is the case. But I do not have confirmation of that. We'll have to confirm." I've reached out to LMPD to confirm this detail about body cameras and with other questions about the shooting.
