First you have to confirm the pregnancy with your GP, who will refer you to the maternity hospital. This can take a while, back in the late 2000s it was a few weeks.
God only knows how long it is now under a govt systematically underfunding public health care to make it private.

Given how angry I got yesterday at listening to the uninformed make judgements about how Universal Credit recipients should be "grateful" for the measly £20 uplift that has been ripped away from them without any form of transitional protection, a *very* basic thread is in order.
Therese Coffey said yesterday that someone working full time could easily get that £20.00 back by working 2 hours. Keir Starmer correctly pointed out this fundamental misunderstanding and he was right.
