Abrogation of Article 370. Art of War. (Thread)

Article 370 was one of the constitutional burdens which prevented J&K as being seen as part of India and gave it a special status. It required not only political will but a great deal of strategy to abrogate it. Let's see why.

On the surface, abrogating Article 370 was easy. It could be removed by a Presidential order. But not known to most of us, 370 had a self protective clause built in. The Presidential order could ONLY be requested by the constituent assembly of J&K. Which made this Catch-22.

OK I'm not one for long threads but #MedTwitter has exploded after this Ayush news, so I have some thoughts and these won't fit in one tweet. Starting with a Poll!
If you were tweeting about this, what was your reason? I personally was surprised at the reaction. Why? For years I've had Surgeons and ObGyns with Ayurveda postgraduate qualifications in private practice and doing these very surgeries that are listed. Has something changed overnight?

Small thread .... open to discussion.
Yesterday the IMA wrote to the @PMOIndia asking him to Deny, Prove or Apologise about some remarks about doctors, specially them asking for women as favours from Pharma industry. (1/n) @PMOIndia I will never support any PM or politician who defames doctors. But in this case the sequence of events is not being highlighted. Neither is it being highlighted as to what exactly the PM said. None who attended the meeting on January 2nd have spoken about the words used. (2/n)
