Joe Kennedy III tying @EdMarkey to fossil fuels is utterly odious.

Friends: Ed Markey is a climate hero.

Joe is trying to take out a climate hero, and therefore is not a climate hero. Every major environmental org has endorsed Markey.

This is a good and necessary statement — bearing in mind that this is a *live issue* in Arlington (!!), having recently dealt with a police officer who made incendiary, racist comments in print. We need to have a forthright conversation about the attitudes cops have about their work. Arlington and MA may have relatively progressive policing policies; but one wonders if cops have internalized those values. Pedrini had an audience.

Friends: Joe Kennedy III didn’t mention climate change *at all* when he had the biggest platform available to any Democrat, the State of the Union response in 2018. You can look that up.

Without exaggeration, Kennedy is running a Rovian campaign. #mapoli Rovian, a la Karl Rove: Misleading about your opponent’s strengths, to make them a liability; Swift-Boating.

Kennedy’s campaign is doing it with Markey’s relentless, rock-solid 37-year record on choice, too. 2/

I’m just getting to this now (school vacation week).

10 minutes in, @EdMarkey us wiping the floor with him. It isn’t close. #Masen #mapoli @EdMarkey “Hey @joekennedy why are you running?” - “Reasons; me (I cant stress this enough: me); and TRUMP”
“Hey @EdMarkey why are you still there?” “I wrote the Green New Deal, & a million other things you take for granted. I’m saving the world out here —“
@jimbraude “keep it brief pal”

It seems very obvious to me that if Elizabeth Warren were a man, she’d be walking away with this thing.

I can’t prove it. But that’s how it seems. And it will always grate that the person who has run the most good-faith, open-hearted campaign; who has spent her whole life‘s work on this Sisyphean task of inequality; gets the most ”authenticity” crap from right, left, and center.

Yeah, I think that’s gendered.

This was a really good column. The left should be aware that we’re getting played, too. The GOP decided a while back that rather than co-opt/share credit for popular liberal ideas, they’re simply going to prevent them from being enacted ... 1/ ... Thereby depriving D’s from getting credit with their own base for enacting anything, creating frustration within the D ranks. The antithesis of consensus politics. It’s compounded by many D’s perpetually looking for “bipartisan” cover ... 2/2
