Lots of offline discussions w fellow RPG creators about the OGL1.1 fall-out. Many of us have been seeking lawyerly advice, & have come to what @doctorow says: 99% of what we've been doing didn't require OGL in the 1st place. Of course Hasbro wants us to sign OGL1.1. Fuck that. 1/ It seems like the one real place OGL1.1 is *actually* required is if you wanna sell D&D compatible content in the DM's Guild. Since WotC owns that marketplace, it can require OGL compliance. This is a BIG reason for a lot of creators. 2/

@JustSikko @CowboyCentaur The perfect example happenened a few sessions ago: characters were sent to investigate a murder by a faction they belong to. They rolled up on the active crime scene. 1/x @JustSikko @CowboyCentaur Instead of the typical question, “do I know any of the Watch who are here?” One of my players says, “I see a city watchman I know. Name is Burke.” I ask, “how do you know him?” The character is a bit of a troublemaker, so:”He’s busted me a few times. You know, petty stuff.” 2/x

Because a few ppl have asked about my house rule, “I Know a Guy:” it’s meant to create that moment in ESB when Han decides he can go to Lando for help, but isn’t 100% sure how Lando will actually receive him: 1/ #dnd In any situation (where it makes sense), a PC can declare “I know a guy,” and then quickly sketch that NPC & the relationship. Fewer details are usually better - that leaves room for the DM & PCs to play. 2/ #dnd
