We Hindus are not obliged to copy other religions. Singing or dancing in a temple is not for an audience or for entertainment. It is worship of the deity. If one professes belief in the deity, one is free to offer his or her prayers in the form of singing and dancing to the deity Temples are not tourist spots, nor are they amusement parks, nor are they stadiums for public performances. It is the domain of the deity, Today you may want your singing, and tomorrow a 'multi-religious" audience? Govts will happily agree, and even have tickets like cinema halls

He sent a message to the Mudaliar brothers - Arcot Ramasamy and Arcot Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar to convey the Collector of Travancore to instruct the police officials to go to Lakshadweep with whatever arms they had.

Inter-religious marriage between a Hindu and others - Hindu law applicable to the child, only if the child was brought up as a Hindu.
Under Muslim law, if one of the parent is a Muslim, then the child is presumed to be a Muslim. No need to prove as required by Hindu law. Indian law and constitution is not exactly Hindu friendly at all.

Reservations and cancellation of career defining exams such as the class 12 exam will hit non-minority, non-reservation hard working students badly. The grind starts at least two years in advance. JEE or NEET. 10-14 hours study every single day. Exams such as these are markers. Merit students are the biggest losers.

In 2017, the NCERT had announced that they were reviewing textbooks, and had invited comments.

Had sampled the Class VII history book (Our Pasts - II) and had sent the following comments. The idea here is to show that each chapter had so many unanswered questions. From Chapter - I, Tracing changes through a thousand years.

Would like to have a short thread on Acharya JC Bose and his contribution to semiconductors. He was a man 60 years ahead of his time. In 1864, Maxwell predicted the existence of electromagnetic waves, and said that they travel at the speed of light. Hertz proved their existence in 1887.

The lyrical beauty of Maxwell's equations! These were reformulated in the form we see today by Oliver Heaviside.

Reminiscing my electrical engg education.
Silicon valley was not built by computer boffins. It was built by electrical engineers. Oh yeah! William Shockley and Fredrick Terman. As a Prof at the Stanford, Terman was instrumental in creation of the Silicon Valley in 1951. Fredrick Emmons Terman who wrote the wonderful book, "Electronic and Radio Engineering".
Mostly focused on the vacuum tube technology. But parts of it, such as the Class C amplifiers stuff was pretty good.

A Friday tale. A story of how two brave Hindu girls avenged their father's death and killed the "first citizen" of Pakistan. A tale from Chachnama, an authentic history of Sindh, probably analogous to Kalhana's Rajataringini, which gives the history of Kashmir When the barbarian, Mohammed bin Qasim attacked Sindh in 712 CE, Raja Dahir was ruling the region. Raja Dahir was killed in Raor. As it was the practice among the Arabian barbarians, they took the Raja's daughters Suriya and Preemal as 'war booty'.
