If you were born in the 80's and is a film music follower, it is highly unlikely that you would miss Ranjini Cassettes and its logo (top left in this image). Did you know that Ranjini came into existence by challenging Yesudas's supremacy those days? A short thread. In the seventies and eighties if there were 100 songs released in Malayalam movies then 90 of them were sung by Yesudas. Jayachandran will sing about 5 and rest by others. They were very few cassette companies those days and most of them were big shots like HMV and Polydor.
