After a very long 3-4 days, some thoughts on the recent deadly #tornado outbreak in TN.
1. An off duty NWS employee can easily become part of the "general public" and go to bed unaware of the threats that exist. No social media post or media message will help if not checking. 2. WEA does you no good if you go to bed with your phone set to do not disturb. It is true you must have a second way to get warnings. In this case it was my dog waking me up. I need to follow our own advice on that one.
