And the claim that “carbon dioxide removal is needed”, but absent any critical context to make sense of the claim.

A few thoughts in a short thread ... 1/ Sure, global CO2 concentrations are currently over 400 ppm. We will need to pull CO2 out of the atmosphere to get temperatures back to levels that humans evolved under.

In the cover decision: "Also recognizes that limiting global warming to 1.5 °C by 2100"

Since when did we give up on actually staying below 1.5?

This text implies overshooting 1.5, by how much??

Let's not go there @COP26 @COP26 The Paris Agreement says "pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels"

There's nothing in there about overshoot and then coming back down to 1.5 °C.

Overshoot is a huge threat to lives, livelihoods, ecosystems.
