alice in borderland s2 is structured after lewis carroll's alice chess moves, so the ending where the characters return to their lives as ordinary persons fulfills the philosophy of chess: "outside of the (borderland) chess board, every piece is the same". no queens, kings etc arisu might've beaten the card games & moved onwards on the borderland chess board with usagi as promoted white pawns. kuina & chishiya might've defended the white areas as bishops(?) and are dying for it. ann as the white queen made her moves around the board too...
