Recent sudden deaths highlights risk of heart attack #PostCovid. Points to know: 1. Relative Risk of heart/brain attack 2-3X for 3 months postcovid. 2. All those with heart disease and those with risk factors(Diabetes,High BP) need stringent control of BP, diabetes& cholesterol 3. Aspirin and statins may also be useful in high risk individuals but not for all as the absolute risk for the majority is low and thus the number needed to treat to prevent one event maybe high and thus exposing low risk individuals to side effects of the drug.
