"Reconciliation" is the new buzz word in US political discourse right now.

We do need to reconcile. But reconciliation requires meaningful accountability for wrongdoing. It is not achieved by simply 'moving on.'

Serious existential uncertainty arises when it becomes profoundly unclear where a political community is heading. In TJ, it’s unclear whether war will end. With coronavirus, it's unclear just how bad a disaster & what duration we are in the cusp of/in the midst of. 2/
