Double standards in sustainable transport, a thread.

30kph Speed Limit: The consultation shows that 56% were against its introduction. We have to respect democracy.

Strand Road: This wasn't a proper consultation and the 66% in favour of it were just "The Cycling Lobby" anyway. The Phoenix Park: We have to listen to the people who want to drive through the park from the suburbs. The park is for EVERYONE.

Strand Road: The people who want to cycle through here in safety are trying to DICTATE the outcome of this consultation.

The Gardaí are currently clamping down on misbehaviour by all road users, including cyclists, so please inform yourself about the specific offences for which cyclists can be fined.
The full list of fixed charge offences for cyclists is outlined below. (Thread) Lights: You need to have a working front light (white) and back light (red) during lighting-up hours, i.e. at night.
- You do not legally need lights on your bike during the daytime.
- "Hi-vis" clothing is not a legal requirement, day or night.
