How does high inflation affect you and what should you do?
1/ If you kept N1,000,000 in your savings account without investing in the last year, with inflation at 16.82% -April 2022, savings will be worth N814,000 in real terms signifying a loss of purchasing power of N186,000. 2/ However, If you had invested in a fixed income instrument even at 5% per annum, the loss in purchasing power will be reduced by N50,000.
