I heard @JuliaHB1 was pontificating her climate denying nonsense on @bbcquestiontime #bbcqt last night. She’s been a denier for many years and her nonsense has been well and truly debunked many times. Yet she persists. ejwwest.wordpress.com/climate-change… It’s shocking in this day and age for #bbcqt to give her a platform and also not provide balance from a knowledgeable person. You wouldn’t seek her opinion on the Higgs Boson, quantum field theory, or general relativity. So why give @JuliaHB1 a platform on climate change?

.@Channel4News @cathynewman @EmmaTuckerST I’m sorry, you continually give platforms to notorious climate change deniers like Dominic Lawson, Rod Liddell and others giving their views more prominence than any objective discussion of the mainstream science. Your letters column invariably gives opinions from those taking cheap shots at the science. You really don’t give the climate crisis the prominence it needs.

@iainmartin1 That’s a strawman argument. What is true is that in Dec 2019, 95% of voters voted for parties with clear manifesto commitments to become net carbon neutral on or before 2050. There’s an overwhelming popular mandate for doing so. @iainmartin1 In 1900 had anyone costed the provision of mains electricity and clean piped water to every home it would have been regarded as unaffordable and out of the reach of the poor. Yet by the 1930s it was largely completed (with WW1 in the way).

@montie It’s called a RECIPROCAL RIGHT. We get the right to live, work, study, retire in 30 other countries. A right we don’t have with “old allies”. However we have been to war with, or against, sometimes both with every member of the EU over the past few hundred years. @montie So it’s total garbage to say we have little historical connection with EU countries.
