.@tana_inc transformed my note-taking system from a:
π one-dimension knowledge library into
π a multi-dimensional universe of knowledge
Here's How π
I've tried to stay tool-agnostic when it comes to note-taking, but it's undeniable that Tana has turbo-charged my note-taking & writing like no other tool I have used before.
I just used @tana_inc's new AI Commands to extract:
π Key Takeaways
π Actions
π Step-by-Step Instructions
From @dickiebush & @Nicolascole77 latest video in less than 30 seconds π¬
One of my biggest challenges with video content is that you can't quickly scan through it to see if it's going to be worth the time investment like you can do with written content.
Now with a quick command, I can decide if I want to watch it or just stick with the takeaways.

Ok who is teaching this DM strategy?
Iβve seen this exact same framework in my inboxes for weeks.
Itβs certainly a step above a cold DM & at least they have bothered to check out my website.
But itβs still in-authentic.
Itβs transactional
Itβs icky
Why would I want some stranger I donβt follow, havenβt interacted with to give me advice on my website?
I donβt know you
I donβt trust you
Why would one DM with a mention of something specific from my website suddenly establish that?

We have 30 people signed up for the Daily Creator Course π
I'm SO excited to be sharing my signature method for showing up daily as a creator that feels both joyful & sustainable...
but also produces a prolific amount of content π
Here's what we're going to cover π
Module 1 we'll talk all about setting up a sacred daily creative ritual.
I'm convinced that this has been the KEY π to the sustainability & prolificness of my creator journey.
A space that's not about the production of content. Just pure curiosity & creativity.

Creating consistent content daily is equal parts ritual & system.
The ritual for me is Wake Up. Make Coffee. Write.
The System is my Daily Creator System. Here's how it works π
Austin Kleon says "But if you have a sacred place & use it, something will eventually happen."
But just sitting in your sacred space with a coffee isn't going to get content written. You need a system to support you in your practice.

One of my goals this year is to leverage content in multiple ways.
Rather than stress myself out trying to create different content for every platform, I'm using one idea in multiple ways, on multiple platforms π
Each week I'm planning on taking one pillar content - either a Youtube Video, Article or Newsletter & turning it into a:
π Thread for Twitter
π Long Form Linked-In Post
π Carousel for Instagram

I really believe that being a creator can be a life-changing experience π
But for so many of my friends creating content is frustrating, takes WAY too long & doesn't seem to get easier the more you do it.
But it doesn't have to be that way...
I've been able to build a sustainable (& joyful) creative practice where content flows & spills out of me constantly & it all comes down to one thing:
SYSTEMS (sorry if you were expecting something else).
James Clear is right when he says you fall to the level of your systems.

On any one day I write & publish multiple pieces of content.
I've found working on multiple things each day the easiest way to always have something interesting to work.
But I don't have all day -> I simply allocate one hour each morning. Here's how it breaks down π
Every piece of content I write is in one of three staging (& energy) areas:
π΄ Needs A Braindump (usually I do this when I have the idea)
π Needs some space to think & write
π’ Needs final touches & to hit publish
Each day I choose one thing from each stage to move along home.

SOP checklists are not just for teams.
One of the best things you can do for your future self is to write down process checklists for regular tasks you do.
And It doesn't have to be complicated. Here's my simple guide to personal SOP checklists π
SOP's don't have to be scary or complicated. As you're completing a regular or recurring task:
π Write down each of the steps as you do them
π Add links to docs or websites you need (so you can get back there in one click
π Include screenshots or looms for easy reference

Most people procrastinate on the tasks they need to do because they simply don't know where to start.
So much wasted brain space figuring things out instead of getting things done π¬
These three questions take me seconds to answer but save me hoursπ§΅π
π Write Down What Do I Need To Do To Start?
This could be a micro action like finding the email or opening this doc.
It seems too simple to work.
But when I see a micro-action I think 'oh that's easy' & momentum builds from there.

Workflow: How I deal with all the random tasks that come up each day in @tana_inc π
Every day I collect tasks from all sorts of random places:
- Meetings
- Projects
- Random thoughts throughout the day
In @tana_inc it's easy to capture these task from anywhere, any node by adding the tag #task
They all end up in my 'Task Inbox' at the end of the day

I'm In π and it's incredible already.
The combination of tags, fields & powerful filtering is making my writing practice in @tana_inc just π€―π€―.
Let's break down what is happening here π
Adding tags brings in structured data to the note
In Tana, you can setup up 'Supertags' where you configure a block (or node) with fields & pre-built data that you set.
This means I can relate it to a cluster note & back to the literature note quickly.

Today I accidentally stumbled upon a journal entry from Oct 2021 where I wrote:
I've hit a wall, everything feels unbalanced, lost the love of it.
Interestingly I feel a similar thing this October. & just knowing that October is a low-energy month for me changes everything
Rather than making drastic changes because of how I'm feeling in the moment, I'm much more able to ride the wave of low energy, knowing that things get better.
And I might think about adjusting my output next October as a result (I'll certainly be more prepared!)

80% of my creative output comes down to one thing... boring old templates.
Here are my top four that you can steal:
Templates seem so straightforward and kind of a no-brainer, but they will save you HOURS of time and unlock a ninja π₯· level of creativity.
I spent the last year perfecting these four writing templates I use every day π

Most creators still take notes like they are in Miss Buckman's 6th grade class summarising that book they only half read and wished they had watched the movie instead.
If you want to create your own unique ideas that stand out, here's how you should be taking notes insteadπ
Great creators are great consumers. But they are not summarising every single word they read & hoarding it away for when they *might* need it.
Instead, they are doing these three things:
π Finding the Spark
π Turning Sparks Into Ideas
π Creating Content from those ideas

If you use it right, a Zettelkasten notes library can be the most powerful tool in your creator's toolbox πͺ
But most people completely overcomplicate it.
(including the book itself π¬)
Here are 5 ways to simply takes notes & leverage content from them for years to come π§΅π
Make Notes While You Consume Content π
Look out for ideas that spark you and then put a quick, ugly few words on a page to remind you to come back and think more about this.
It doesn't have to interrupt your 'flow' it's just a signal that you want to think about this further.

I've been practising meditation for the past 2 years.
I rarely reach some bliss state or clear my monkey mind. But I am more focused, less distracted & 100% more effective because of the practice.
Here's what I wished someone had told me when I was starting π§΅π
Most people drop a meditation habit thinking they don't have a good enough attention span. But what if I told you meditation has nothing to do with how big your attention span is?
Here's what I've learned about meditation from practicing daily π
