There are several reasons why Dray has “appeared” less than himself this series, and they mainly have nothing to do with him playing poorly… (thread) The first is that this is the most challenging matchup of Dray’s career.

Dray had the athleticism and quickness advantage over traditional lumbering big men in the past.

I watched him play The beginning of my love affair with basketball was watching 6-9 215 lb Dave Cowens beat Kareem in the finals. It was inspirational to me that heart, skill and a superior game plan could beat superior size in the NBA.

I’m guessing it was inspirational to Don Nelson as well.

Poole Party or Poole Problem?

Poole struggled when Denver and Memphis started taking him seriously… Against Dallas tho, Kerr correctly recognized that he could play the Curry Poole backcourt with near impunity.

With only two wing defenders otherwise occupied, Poole was left to operate against the likes of Doncic, Dinwiddie, Brunson and Kleber.

To expand: Greater size, great length on the wings, more athleticism, more speed, younger…

And my greatest fear, possibly more depth. This ain’t no series for 19 yr olds. Jenkins tanked what could have been a closer series after Ja went down. Either inexperience or simply clueless, never formed a coherent gameplan…

A few thoughts on #Warriors #Mavs in 3,2,1… First off this is an extraordinarily difficult series to analyze. We have two brilliant and dynamic coaches going head to head, who are willing to make any adjustment necessary to win a game or the series.

The tactical possibilities are dizzying.

On a road trip today but will be tweeting #Warriors #Grizzlies intermittently as I go…

Let’s start with this: This series is for the Western Conference championship. The Suns aren’t in it. Strong statement? The oddsmakers certainly disagree - theyve installed the Suns as co-favorites with the Warriors in the West.

This line is broken. Set by fan expectations, which have in turn been set by the clueless NBA media. The Suns aren’t in it.

Reasons why the Warriors will have a surprisingly good regular season in 3, 2, 1... The defense has reached singularity.

I believe in tipping points with defense, the number of great defenders necessary to make the whole team start trying on the defense.
