Did NATO push Ukraine into a war?

I think that Putin is probably all the crazy things that they say he is but can we for a minute look at the context of the cause of this current crises and npt conclude that Ukraine is being used to fight NATO's proxy war with Russia?

Let me explain: NATO was formed four years after the second world war. The villain of the second world war being Adolf Hitler and his country? Yes, Germany. Soviet Union - with its own messy history of wars, conquests, defeats, invasions- suffered greatly under German attack.

@Mr_JAGs Had to use the BRT today and I can confirm to you that the absence of buses for routes along Ikorodu is a policy by the operators. All the five buses avaiable are designed to deduct N500 from the cowrey card automatically from TBS.

Makes more business sense for them. While there were five buses waiting for passengers going to Ikorodu -another just joined them as I was typing this- those with N300 destinations along the Ikorodu road route don't have any bus to pick them.

This has defeated the core purpose of the Bus Rapid transport system.

I am one to leave people with their political choices. To each his own is my motto. I even have good friends I don't share the same political opinions with.

I broke that code a few weeks ago at a cafe near me.

This young guy was having a go at the Lagos State government. He was going on and on about people were cowards for not embarking on another round of #EndSARS protests against the 'useless' APC government.

I asked him which state he was from and he said Delta State.

It was that response that made me lose it.

No matter what your views are concerning the deregulation of the downstream sector in Nigeria, you need to know how we arrived & how so many options had been implemented that didn't end scarcity.

Of the major derivatives of refined crude oil, only PMS is the subject of debate. We have managed to fully deregulate diesel and kerosene.

We used to have refineries that produced for 'local consumption' but we are surrounded by countries who were not oil producing then & that created incentive for refined products to be smuggled across the border.

Price of PMS will continue to dominate our lives because of the failure of power & mass transportation infrastructure.

These increases are relfected in other countries too but they have trains as primart mass transportation, and they don't need to fuel generators. So when many of pur eggheads were calling for total deregulation, those are the grey areas they often overlook. 95% of our trasportation are driven by PMS. Prices will be passed on. Same with our generators.

Without getting those two right, we will keep having these arguments.

The phantom massacre in Lekki was the perfect justification some found to unleash destruction on Lagos.
By continuing to hold on to that massacre narrative, you are numbing yourself from examining all the evidence and the lies on that night.

Here are the facts: There was shootings under the cover of darkness that incensed everyone. The Army claim they shot blanks. The forensic report from the doctors who treated the wounded claim extracted bullets were not from Army rifles. They were pellets used in locally made pistols.

There is a way Twitter forces everyone to take a binary thinking position on the #EndSARS protests. Once you ask questions about the veracity of claims based on evidence, you are immediately a government apologists. People are forced to jettison thinking to fit into a side. Yet, it is by asking critical questions of the claims made of the events that happened that night & the days after that one begins to get the impression that we were played.

The Army showing up, having the lights switched off and shooting was a dumb straregy.

What Rinu tweeted about Nigeria being a Zoo exemplified the failure of character that didn't allow even a worthy cause like #EndSARS to succeed.

It was a just cause I fully backed.

It had the buy in of almost all people across political divides. Those SARS needed to go. But some of the prominent personalities behind it made it about themselves & how that movement can be morphed into something entirely different.

I remember how it was very normal for them to pitch younger generation of Nigerians against the older ones. It was sad to see.

When @4eyedmonk tweeted about Igbos desiring an Igbo presidency, I was tempted to weigh in because of healthy conversations that can be had with contacts here from that part but images of blatant bigotry I have encountered in Surulere flashed before me and I ignored it. A Yoruba person doesn't have the same socialization that has shaped political decision of majority of the igbos.
We often avoid talking about it but I believe that the civil war has shaped the political posturing of the igbos than any other event over the last 60 years.

Following the decision of the FG to get $22B loan to implement the infrastructural objectives of this government, I have seen people complaining about the loans being a burden on future generations.

For those not be old enough, Lagos state took a similar decision under Tinubu. This was clearly before the overbearing influence of the social media and many of those with the loudest take on this loan may not be old enough to remember those events.
I hope this post will help some of you understand why infrastructure is key to growth.
And any government

Almost every time there is an Anthony Joshua fight, those who have become overnight heavyweight experts from watching clips of Deontay Wilder pummeling fighters crawl out of their holes with generalized opinions about the supremacy of Deontay Wilder.
Let me educate you! FACT: Anthony Joshua began his boxing career the same time Wilder turned pro. The older pro has just one belt scrambled for with others after Vitali Klitcshko vacated the WBC Title. Wilder has held that belt hostage for years by not attempting a unification fight.
