Some of the most prominent masculinity experts are co-opting and appropriating Black women’s feminist scholarship and it’s disgusting. The only reason these guys are able to talk critically about their gender and masculinity is Black women. And most of them don’t even bother to connect their work to the activism that these women literally risked their lives to do.

This ridiculous image is what we get when our analysis of boys and men erases the feminist scholarship of women, primarily black women, that came before it. The image suggest that the empowerment of girls comes off the backs of boys and men, which isn’t reflected in reality or any of the data.

Guns now kill more preschoolers than law enforcement officers in the line of duty.

Children don’t have a powerful lobby. They only have us to remove the adults in charge who are committed to endangering them. Every 32 minutes a child is injured by a gun the US.

Female athletes normalizing the idea that a mental health injury requires the same recovery as a physical injury is precisely why women are needed in every single part of our society. The amount of people who are angry at these female athletes for simply asserting their boundaries shows us just how much healing we have left to do.

Want to #FreeBritney? Welcome to the disability rights revolution so glad you’re here. Think it’s wild that britney couldn’t remove her IUD? It’s currently completely legal for women with disabilities to be sterilized.

This asinine argument could only be made in a society profoundly committed to making black women responsible for white men’s violence. .@MaxineWaters is not causing violence, she’s reacting to violence. There’s a difference.

Manhood is so fragile that a piece of cloth (a mask or a dress) can take it away. Republicans accuse Democrats of playing the "woman card" when they have been playing the "man card" for years, as @jacksontkatz new film demonstrates:

Trump has been accused of sexual abuse by 26 women which is more than the number of people in his Cabinet and the average size of a baseball team. But what struck me the most about the 26th woman accusing the president of sexual misconduct wasn't her words. It was the silence of the men around her.

Men who aren’t tough enough to wear a mask really think they’re tough enough to give birth. At the very core of fragile masculinity for these men is a deeply ingrained sense that they cannot measure up to the undeniable magnitude of women’s power which leads them to an unfulfilling lifelong quest to compensate for it.

The pro-life movement is a pyramid scheme that scams the poor and violates human rights and we have no choice but to abolish it. My latest for @marieclaire. #DefundTheProLife
marieclaire.com/politics/a3301… I know what you’re thinking. Defund it?! Doesn’t the pro-life movement get most of its money from religious organizations and corporations? Yes, it does! But it also gets a giant portion from you! The American tax-payer!

When you see women defending Brett Kavanaugh this morning it’s a good reminder that this isn’t a gender war, it’s a war between those who believe we should raise men and boys better, and those who don’t. @RebeccaCokley A lot of women are invested in the status quo. I've interviewed several of them and many of them told me that boys and girls should be raised differently and that questioning the way we raise boys is inherently bad for them, when data points to the very contrary.

An excerpt of my book will be in the sunday print edition of the @washingtonpost!! washingtonpost.com/outlook/why-th… If men (and women) in more gender-equal countries are less likely to get divorced, be depressed or die as a result of violence, why is gender equality only seen as a women’s issue?

"These guys, these rootless white males, had monster power [...] You can activate that army.” -Steve Bannon on who he targeted to build a white nationalist movement in the US
usatoday.com/story/tech/tal… As I was reporting my book out, I was shocked to find hardly any research on the intersection of terrorism and gender. We pay attention to gender when it’s a female terrorist, but there’s not the same curiosity when it comes to men, because we omit that they have a gender too.
