Brief thread: Nothing against #Draghi, but this is one of those moments when Italy doesn’t feel like a properly functioning democracy to me. A govt of all the parties, left and right, which have nothing in common, but have joined the govt out of pure opportunism. Not out 1/ of any sense of national spirit or unity. Led by someone who not only isn’t a politician and wasn’t elected, but didn’t even have any connection with the last election. Someone who is supposed to come in and rule “over” the parties, which aren’t supposed to get in his way. 2/
