JUST ANNOUNCED: Defence Spending will rise by £75bn over the next 6 years.

With the world becoming more dangerous we can’t afford not to act. That’s why we’ll invest unprecedented amounts to give our Armed Forces a game-changing advantage.

🧵Find out what this £75bn will do: By far the largest uplift enacted since the Cold War, this increase, starting today will see us reach 2.5% of GDP by 2030.

That means by the end of the decade we’ll be spending over £22bn extra a year on defence and more than double what we spent in 2010.

Data shows we need to remove the Czech Republic, Jamaica and Switzerland from our list of #Coronavirus Travel Corridors to keep infection rates DOWN. If you arrive in the UK after 0400 Saturday from these destinations, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days. Data also shows we can now add Cuba to those countries INCLUDED in Travel Corridors. As with all air bridge countries, please be aware that things can (and do sometimes) change quickly. Only travel if you are content to unexpectedly 14-day quarantine on return.
