every transaction has an impact on OI

the impact depends on the positioning of the 2 accs involved in the transaction

example: mkt buy order get executed against lmt sell order

../1 .../2

case 1: both accs are flat...then acc1 creates a new long pos and corresponding acc2 a new short pos

-> OI up

case 2: acc1 is short and acc2 is long...then both! accs close their positions

-> OI down

quick thread about the very basic dynamics it pays to understand imo

after the turn when the mkt trades higher we have some shorts that are trapped below the lets say 38350 level

you now have to think about the aggressive&passive buying&selling that will likely

aggressive buying will come from new longs and old short buying back their position

ppl will step on the bid to go long and also to cover their shorts..these are bigger player that dont want to push the mkt away from them so they

quick cut out of the original vid by @discoverytrader about the "little print" setup..so...take y pencils out and make notes y lazy bastards - like adam @abetrade wld say 😅 so the main difference is in the volume above or below the level...mouse trap is basically about a failed breakout where breakout traders are absorbed and trapped long or short

little print is more an exhaustion setup..when y dont see these big prints and no absorption is needed

oldie but goodie...good take on oderflow from oldschool tradif traders...with 3 real world OF setups in it...at about the 50min mark theres a summary of how these 3 setups do work together
