Watercolour is such a technical medium. You'd think paints are just different colours. Nope! Pigments are made of various minerals and organic compounds which influences their opacity, drying time, half-life, and toxicity.

This will be a thread where I nerd out while I paint. ImageImage This is the first time I'm using artist quality pigments, which are wayyy more vibrant than the student ones!

To get to know my tools & practice deliberately, we'll cycle through the paints, starting from blue family. 💙

I'll update in the mornings when the lighting's better! Image

SO excited to share this analysis on COVID-19 prolonged recovery:

📑 bit.ly/bp-covid-surve…

We poured our hearts into writing this public report. As researchers, scientists and also COVID-19 survivors, we hope our findings shed some light into the complex nature of recoveries. I believe this is the 1st ever participant-led analysis for COVID-19. We surveyed 640 patients, found patterns we have not seen reported in media. Check it out.

It's been such a joy to collaborate w/ @GinaAssaf

I've had a persistent cough, occasional tight chest since I flew back. I just want to know if I'm a carrier. I'm self-isolating but roommates are NOT taking this seriously.

Ofc 811 healthline is conjested and tests are backed up to the thousands.

Now my roommate has a fever. Image Should have stayed my ass in Asia. This system is failing its people.

I believe energy/time mgmt is one of those skills that need tune-ups as priorities & health conditions change. I think of it as updating the 🧠's software. 🤓

This month I'm working with a coach to refine mine! I'll share learnings & resources along the way.

A [thread] Past iterations!

Wow the quality of Tinder messages have 📈☝️💯 when I added the following to my bio:

- message me your interests and intentions
- skip the small talk that both you and I detest!

It's lovely to get people's heartfelt life stories/goals upfront instead of "heyyyy". 🤩 Perhaps you will hate me for saying this but Tinder is a sales funnel.

Swiping = Lead gen
Starting a convo = You/they pitch
Response and/or questions = You both qualify
Plan to meet in person = You/they close

All I did was help ppl pitch with confidence which helps me qualify.

One of my mentors, a long time lawyer and prof in China, once shared with me a positioning/negotiation tactic, which I thought is clever and hilarious.

Here's an example he acted out while in the car, in response to someone asking for his speaker rates: My mentor, Mr. Li:

"Mr. Huang, I'm honoured that you would consider me to speak at your school" *pauses, looks concerned, lowers voice* "I just worry, I'm not sure if what I charge would be tough on your budget."

#selfcare

After seeing how damaged my skin was from travel due to dehydration, switching climates + diets, jetlag etc, I learned to do skincare the Korean way. ~4 month later, my skin has improved a lot and feels LUSH. 🍑

No filter or makeup: Here's what I'm using these days:

1. MUJI Sensitive Cleansing Oil
2. MUJI Mild Face Soap
3. MUJI Organic Moisturizing Toning Water
4. Salt Spring Soapworks Shea Butter Rose Lotion (day)
5. Cosrx Honey Mask (night)
6. Cosrx pimple batch (breakout SOS)
