Tesla's vision-only approach to autonomous driving has several advantages over competitors like GM, Waymo, Zoox, & many others who use Lidar. My quick perspective on why, in this thread below. 🧵👇 First, vision-based driving systems are significantly cheaper than Lidar driving systems, which makes it possible for Tesla to roll out their technology on a larger scale and at a faster rate, compared to competitors.
