I just finished reading The PARA Method by @fortelabs and thought I'd try it (likely with my own spin).
I'll be PARA-ing, roughly in this order:
• @todoist
• iCloud/my Mac
• Google Drive (personal and work)
• @obsdmd
• @NotionHQ (maybe)
Todoist looks good👇
I always feel the need to separate zones of my life at a high level - personal, business, and work.
Can anyone else relate to this? I think it's a mental health/boundary thing.
Next, iCloud...

My Obsidian workflow is constantly evolving to suit my needs.
I LOVE seeing other people's workflows, and I am a big fan of 'learning in public'.
With that in mind, this is how I use Obsidian for note-taking and note-making 👇
Obsidian is where I:
• Capture notes and highlights (input).
• Process those capture notes to generate ideas.
• Draft and finalise my own output (e.g. articles).
• Journal.
This tweet thread will focus on note-taking and note-making rather than journalling.

Want to know what's in my tech toolkit for academic research and study?
Here's a high-level overview👇🧵
I use:
🟢 @zotero for managing research papers, citations, highlights and annotations.
🟢 @obsdmd for notes.
I also use MS Word for writing assignments - this is not by choice; the university requires it.

I've been tinkering with my Obsidian setup for months now, and it's finally at a stage where I have something that (nearly) works.
In the interest of 'learning in public', it felt like a great time to share.

There are books, articles, podcasts, courses and videos out there with the potential to change your life. The problem is, there's just too much.
To learn from the content you consume, I recommend you design your own personal knowledge management (PKM) system.
Here's how 🧵👇
Before you start designing your PKM system, think about WHY you consume certain types of content.
3 main reasons are likely:
• Entertainment (dog videos on TikTok)
• Information (news)
• Learning (books, courses etc).
Your PKM system is mainly for learning.

Wellbeing-driven productivity includes learning to switch off from work.
Here are 20 methods that work for me.
💭 Why not try one this evening or weekend?
A thread 👇
1. Remove work emails from your personal mobile device (hopefully, this one is self-explanatory).

Want to know how I've managed to write an atomic essay every day for the past month?
The answer is not a sexy one... but it works.

Here are the tools I mentioned in my essay👇
My personal experience of burnout led me to discover the concept of wellbeing-driven productivity.
A thread👇
Burnout tends to affect people in 'helping' professions, for example, those working in healthcare and education.
While burnout symptoms are different for everyone, mine were physical, emotional and mental exhaustion and increased (read: off-the-scale) anxiety.

Productivity needs a rethink - we're doing it all wrong.
It's time to start talking about wellbeing-driven productivity.
Want to know more?
A thread👇
Workaholism and hustle culture are now known to promote unsustainable, burnout-inducing work practices.
Productivity, on the other hand, is a positive concept... that is until it becomes toxic ☠️

Productivity needs a rethink.
Workaholism and hustle culture have been publicly condemned for promoting unsustainable, burnout-inducing work practices.
Productivity, on the other hand, is still considered a positive concept.
Until productivity becomes toxic.
A manifesto👇
Toxic productivity is an obsession with being productive all the time.
While it sounds a bit like workaholism and hustle culture, in many ways, it’s worse as it creeps into every aspect of life, making it the fastest route to burnout.

🔋 Energy accounting is an essential part of my wellbeing-driven productivity toolkit.
If you are you are feeling exhausted right now, this thread is for you 👇
💭 The idea behind energy accounting is that you work out which activities drain and restore your energy.
📝 Make a list and assign each activity a number of points (e.g. out of 100) to represent how much they restore (+) or drain (-) your energy.
