💫Did you know that today, Nov 21, is the Day Of Remembering That Men Are Still Racing In The @usacycling Women's Category?💫

Such a special day!

Today we recall the racers who will never be female but who are allowed to race in USAC's women's fields anyway for some reason.🧵👇 Image

Here's Kylie (Kyle) Small racing (and winning) a women's singlespeed cyclocross national championship.

This is not how you grow the women's field, @usacycling. "Kylie" will never be a woman. Image

A large number of my tweets have been removed in the EU for defamation/insult. 🇪🇺

This has made me deeply consider my ways. I have now realized that trans women are women!

🧵I would like to set things right with a thread of brave trans women racing bikes as their true selves!

Jenna Lingwood has had tons of wins in road and cyclocross over the past several years. She even has a national championship title. She's so strong!

I keep seeing:

"It's not happening."
"It's fake culture war stuff."
"The far right made it up."
"There are about 19 total of them competing across all sports."

🧵Here's a thread of males CURRENTLY competing in ONE sport: women's cycling. 👇

Kylie (Kyle) Small is the current women's singlespeed cyclocross US national champion. He recently took women's podiums for Fort Lewis College at the 2024 collegiate cycling nationals and was named a collegiate All-American.

As the year comes to a close, here's a thread of males who have won in women's cycling in 2023. 🏆

(Because "This never happens," and "I bet you can't even give me an example," and "How many people can this possibly affect?")

It's Father's Day!

Let's take a moment to honor the dads of women's bike racing!

Some have grown children, some share custody, and some have young ones at home.

Somehow, all of them find the time to stand on women's cycling podiums at all different levels.

Incredible! ImageImage Tara (Todd) Seplavy has taught his kids the important lesson that you can still hang in the women's P-1-2-3 as a rather out-of-shape 48-year-old cat 3 as long as you put in the effort (and are male).

Inspiring! ImageImage

It's encouraging to see media coverage of Austin Killips wrongly taking the women's win at @TouroftheGila.

This is happening at every level of cycling. Whether or not the male wins is irrelevant. At any level, women's sports are for women.

Examples from this week⬇️: Tara Seplavy (Todd) raced in the women's P/1/2/3 at the Daniel Harwi 35th Annual Lower Providence Spring Classic Crit. ImageImage

🧵Males in women's cycling - master thread🧵

"This is a tiny group of people. It's not an issue. It hardly affects anyone."

Every woman and girl at every level of competition deserves the right to race in a category free of male advantage.

Attention! I've been completely wrong this whole time:

Male athletes racing against women aren't winning because of male puberty, they're winning because of their superior training, fitness, and tactics.

Jordan Johnson was much fitter than the women at this race, obviously: Kallie (aka Drew) Winners certainly would not have beaten all these cat 4 women without the expert coaching of Rebecca Gross.

🧵#3 about men racing in women's cycling.

Remember, this is SO RARE that we should just shut up about it!

Thread 🧵#2 about how "this never happens" and there are "so few" male-bodied trans racers in women's cycling that it can't possibly affect anyone at all!
