1/ 🏆 AFL Grand Final 2023: Recalling the magic of 2010, it's prompted deep introspection. In my first deep dive since retirement, I consumed EVERYTHING leading up to the game. I was deeply immersed again. #AFLGrandFinal2023 #Collingwood 2/ Memories of Grand Final weeks, playing at the MCG, and the electrifying feeling of tucking the ball under the arm, dodging & weaving, all came rushing back.

1/ I’ve given Nathan Buckley many years to grow and hopefully tell the truth. Unfortunately, he has used his platform and considerable profile to discredit me, including making insinuations about my mental health and being deliberately misleading about the past. 2/ My claims about Buckley have always been consistent: That he was actively aware of serious cultural problems at Collingwood, and that he was instrumental in punishing me and pushing me out of the Club when I spoke up about these issues at all levels of CFC.

1/ I’ve been thinking of Robbie Young a lot in recent days. I hope he and his family are doing ok through the intense attention that has followed him. 2/ re Walker - based on my on-field experience with him - this recent incident doesn’t surprise me. Talk of him being ‘well educated’ on racism for 10-15yrs proves just how broken the system is. Being ‘educated’ on racism by the AFL is like being taught how to drive by a toddler.

1/ Eddie McGuire’s final speech as CFC president was somehow even worse than his last press conference. Denial, delusion and a complete inability to admit fault. 2/ He couldn’t help lying, again. The ‘CFC Do Better’ report was not a ‘response to the Black Lives Matter movement’, as McGuire suggested. CFC themselves announced the review was commissioned ”following accounts of racism made by Heritier Lumumba.”

1/ My response to the recent letter from CollingwoodFC players:
I don’t doubt the sincerity of players when they say they are ashamed of staying silent and have been shocked by the contents of the leaked #CFCDoBetter report. However, a few things should be noted: 2/ It’s strange that young players - who are not responsible for the administration and culture of the club - have issued an unconditional statement acknowledging harm when the management and leadership of the club have yet to do so.

1/ Thanks to the First Nations and African journalists who have been instrumental in pushing my story forward - please give them a follow and retweet/ share: 2/ @amymcquire published this exclusive in the Guardian yesterday which confirms that Eddie McGuire announced his resignation just days after receiving a draft version of the report:

1) I’m grateful to all the people who have reached out to me in support - including CFC members and supporters - as well as all those who have challenged the Collingwood Football Club’s bizarre response to their own report finding them guilty of systemic racism. 2) It was painful to watch the club dig itself deeper into delusion and dishonesty at today’s press conference. #CfcDoBetter

1. Thank you for the overwhelming support I have received from Australia and around the world, especially from Collingwood fans who I represented on the field for 10 years. Thank you, as always, to Leon, Andrew, Chris and Shae for standing with me. 2. Thank you to former teammates who have reached out privately to support me. In a moment where Black people worldwide are demanding justice and dignity, I ask that you stand with me publicly now.

1. Interesting that Collingwood is now shifting its narrative to claim that they are trying to 'reach out' to me. Let me very clear: I have no intention of sitting down with anyone until they publicly acknowledge some fundamental facts.
afl.com.au/news/447409/-i… 2. Why a public acknowledgement? Because I have been discredited publicly. I don’t want a private handshake. I want justice for how I was treated. That includes correcting public denials about my account of the racism & isolation I faced.
