Final results in Arlington, Virginia's first ranked-choice election emerged over the weekend, days after the Democratic primary...

Under the ranked-choice voting (RCV) system that was used, the third place candidate wound up securing a seat on the county board.

Thread🧵 Just as absurd, it took six rounds of elimination — six! — to declare the person who came in first in the initial round as the winner.

This week, @elonmusk pointed out the problems with Mark Zuckerberg's $400+ million donation to @HelloCTCL and @ElectionInnov – left-wing dark money groups which poured cash into election admin offices across the country.

In response, @pbump at @washingtonpost admitted what @honestelections has been arguing for years now – that this initiative was a targeted turnout operation at its core.

Claims that the AZ ballot measure makes no changes to voter ID laws are false.

apnews.com/article/arizon… The measure:
✅Allows voters to show pictures of ID in lieu of a physical form of ID.
✅Allows use of ID that isn’t issued by a government.
✅Goes out of its way to ban ID for mail-in ballots, so mail voting can never be protected by ID laws.

Democrats seem a lot more interested in talking about “voting rights” than their proposed bills.

Why? Because they are pushing unconstitutional, unpopular policies that put confidence in elections at risk.

They want to use your tax $ to fund political campaigns.

Both HR1 & Manchin’s “Freedom to Vote Act” have programs that give $6 in public funds for every $1 (up to $200) in donations. "Voting rights” means politicians voting for the right to use our $ for their campaigns.

🚨 Democrats are back with *another* version of the unnecessary, unconstitutional power grab called "HR4" or "S4."

Except now they're trying to pass it off as some sort of bipartisan compromise. Spoiler alert, it’s basically the exact same bill.

🧵Thread Just like before, this version of S4 makes it easier for left-wing groups to sue states and use courts to junk popular, commonsense election safeguards that inspire voter confidence and stop fraud.

Congratulations to Texas! Gov. Abbott just signed SB1, a new law to improve and enhance voter confidence and election integrity.

Expect to hear cries of “voter suppression!”

Not so fast. The bill adds more hours of early voting.

Counties with 55,000 people will now have to offer 12 hours of voting during weekdays.

The U.S. House is about to consider H.R. 4, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. They just finished rewriting it to make it “constitutional” and “bipartisan.” Is it? Let’s take a look.

🧵THREAD 1/?🧵 HR4 starts by trying to make it easier for left-wing groups to sue states and use courts to get rid of basic, commonplace, and popular voting safeguards that strengthen voter confidence in elections and stop fraud.

It should be easy to vote, and hard to cheat. That’s what most Americans want. Does S.1 do that? No. S.1 is filled with unpopular provisions that put our elections at risk. It gets rid of voter ID measures nationwide, forces unrestricted vote trafficking into every community, and undoes basic safeguards that protect our ballots.

The @USPS sent letters warning states about potential issues w/ absentee ballot deadlines. Some are using this to provoke fear of mail vote “sabotage.”

Let’s take a breath. Read the letter. Here’s the one PA got. ImageImage TLDR: some states have unrealistic deadlines for requesting absentee ballots. (spoiler, they probably always were).

PA lets voters request mail ballots up to 1 week before Election Day. That’s Oct. 27–the same day @USPS says voters should be *returning* their ballots by mail.

This @nytimes expose is a must-read. Cronyism and corruption in #NYC fed a bubble in medallion prices. The consequence: The city brought in tremendous sums, politically-connected fleet medallion owners got rich, & low-income drivers got trapped.
nyti.ms/2W7rdGj Much of the reporting focuses on lending practices and lax oversight by regulators, but let’s not forget the original sin of the taxi industry: the medallion itself. If #NYC didn’t insist on artificially limiting the number of taxis, this scandal would never have happened.
