As Attorney General, I led the Department of Justice in advocating @realDonaldTrump’s and my view that, when the 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed, sex meant one’s biological sex and did not include gender identity. I'm pleased that Attorney General Barr has continued this fight. We argued that if Congress wanted to pass a more expansive definition of sex it was free to do so.

Few would contend this new definition of sex was intended by the Congress that passed the 1964 Act.

Sgt. Stephen Williams served faithfully in law enforcement for 23 years, most recently in the Moody Police Department. I have enormous appreciation for President Trump and all that he has done for our country. I will be voting for him this fall, and working hard to pass his agenda when I return to the Senate next year. The specific law for the Department of Justice required that I recuse myself from the Russian collusion investigation. To not recuse myself from that investigation, of which I was a target as a senior campaign official and a witness, would have been breaking the law.

Today, the Supreme Court heard arguments on the Obamacare contraceptive mandate. As Attorney General, I worked to roll back the Obama Administration's position and provide protection for religious organizations like the Little Sisters of the Poor. nytimes.com/2017/10/06/us/… The nuns arguing for an exemption from Obamacare's contraception mandate are selfless servants who are just asking to be able to live their sincere religious beliefs. We MUST protect religious freedom in the United States!
