I just read this awesome paper by @StuartJWarden@edwardswb@rwilly2003 on preventing BSI’s in runners and I can’t say enough good things about it! Here are a few amazing pearls: 1) All BSI’s in runners are due to training errors. The biggest? ⬆️ speed too quickly
2) the BSI will likely occur 3-4 weeks after a major training error
3) the best treatment is prevention. Children should avoid sport specialization and participate in multi-directional sports to build a robust skeleton

Great clinical commentary on patellofemoral pain in runners by @JFEsculier and team.
Key points: 1) patient education on the concepts of load and capacity should be the hallmark clinical approach
1/n pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33196837/2) length of injury is key.

—more chronic: more permanent shift in load and enhanced focus on psychosocial aspects may be warranted

#Running gait retraining is something many patients and clinicians discuss during their #telehealth#PhysicalTherapy visits. Keep in mind a few key concepts (1/n):
