A hardcore socialists and gradualist; he was the pre-avatar of @NitishKumar in Bihar politics; when Yadav leadership had not appeared in #Bihar. He was similar to Charan Singh in U.P. before the advent of Mulayam.

बीजेपी सरकार जिस हिसाब से लघु और मध्यम श्रेणी के व्यापारियों की बात करती है और जनसंघ के समय से जैसा उसका जनाधार रहा है, उस हिसाब से लघु-मध्यम व्यापारी उससे ख़ुश नहीं लगते। कुछ ऐसे छोटे व्यापारियों को जानता हूँ जिनका कहना है कि सरकार बड़े व्यापार को समर्थन कर रही है(1) सोनभद्र में जहाँ मेरे ससुराल वाले रहते हैं, सोन के तट पर बालू और खनन का बड़ा काम है। पहले छोटे-छोटे ठेकेदार भी बालू निकालते थे, बीजेपी सरकार के आने से ई-टेंडरिंग हुई और ऐसा नियम हो गया कि एक खास टर्न ओवर से कम वाली कंपनी काम नहीं ले सकती। स्थानीय खिलाड़ी स्वत: बाहर हो गए। (2)

कल ट्विटर पर भागलपुर एयरपोर्ट ट्रेंड कर रहा था और मेरा मत है कि वहाँ एक एयरपोर्ट होना ही चाहिए। बल्कि मैं इसमें कुछ संशोधन के साथ(अगर संभव हो तो) इसे भागलपुर और मुंगेर के बीच में कहीं बनाने की मांग करता हूँ। (1) #BhagalpurAirport
भागलपुर बिहार का एक प्रमुख व्यापारिक शहर है और दक्षिण पूर्वी बिहार का तो सबसे बड़ा शहर है। इसकी आबादी करीब 5 लाख है और हस्तशिल्प से लेकर, शिक्षा, साहित्य, कला आदि में इसका बड़ा योगदान रहा है। यहां शरतचंद्र जैसे बड़े लेखक भी आकर रहे, जिनका यहीं पर ननिहाल था। (2)

बिहार में खासकर मिथिला क्षेत्र की बात करें तो किसानी की हालत खराब तो है, लेकिन वृक्षारोपण/बागवानी बढ़ रही है। ख़ासकर लोग आम, जामुन, महोगनी और सागवान के पेड़ लगा रहे हैं। मछली पालन बढ़ रहा है, लोग तालाब खुदवा रहे हैं।आंध्र की मछली अब नहीं दिखती, बंगाल से मछली की आमद बढ़ी है। (1) बंगाल से उत्तर बिहार में मछलियों की आवक का कारण चार लेन हाईवे है और बेहतर ग्रामीण सड़कों का होना है। वहाँ से जिंदा मछलियाँ आती हैं और यहाँ के तालाबों में 3-4 दिन तक रखी जाती हैं। स्वाद में बहुत फर्क नहीं है। आज से 10-15 साल पहले तक यहाँ पर आँध्र की मछलियों का राज था। (2)
