The murder of an MP is obviously horrific but…

… I can’t help but feel that Patel et al’s concern for MPs’ safety is disproportionate in a country where the safety of half the population is constantly called into question.

Ultimately “security” (policing etc) is not the solution.

It’s treating symptoms not causes.

When I started coding age 6 (~1986) 🐣 hitting "RUN" and going off to do something else (ie LEGO) was the norm.

Recently 👨‍💻 JIT compile has become so fast you code, run, fix, run, code, run, fix, run second to second without rest.

...now I work in AI.

One of the most beautiful moments of the last 12m was sitting on the beach in 🇦🇪Dubai with Mrs M, watching our kids playing in the waves as the sun set over the sea...

... and for perhaps 20m as the sun dropped, hearing the wave of Adhan (أَذَان) wash over the city behind us. I'm reminded, because a song from my childhood has popped into my headphones; the Kyrie from Fanshaw's African Sanctus.

Essentially it's the Muslim & Christian calls to prayer together.

... is like buying a @Tesla for cash, and finding a tenner in the glove-box.

£11mm is a *huge* amount of money.. but for a government paying £14,000mm *every month* for a furlough scheme..
