Levine is "trans," and Twitter wanted me to delete my tweet and admit that I had engaged in "hateful conduct" by "misgendering him." 1/ I refused, and was sent into Twitter purgatory until I repented, which I never did. In the meantime, @elonmusk bought Twitter and purported to usher in an era of free speech. But many accounts like mine remained locked. The old censors, it seemed, were still in control. 2/

Not that it should surprise anyone, but the reporting on family separation at the border has been pretty shoddy and incomplete. 1/ 2/ What few outlets are reporting is that prior to this family separation policy, families caught crossing illegally that tried to claim asylum were released within a few days. The parents were given ankle monitors and told to report to an asylum hearing months away.
