I was locked out of my Twitter account a year ago for saying that Rachel Levine, a high-ranking official in the Biden administration, is a man. Levine is "trans," and Twitter wanted me to delete my tweet and admit that I had engaged in "hateful conduct" by "misgendering him." 1/ I refused, and was sent into Twitter purgatory until I repented, which I never did. In the meantime, @elonmusk bought Twitter and purported to usher in an era of free speech. But many accounts like mine remained locked. The old censors, it seemed, were still in control. 2/

Quick thread: USA Today's "fact check" posts would be a source of much-deserved internet mockery if they didn't influence what people can read & share on Facebook. Case in point is a parody-level piece about whether Derek Chauvin received a fair trail. 1/6 usatoday.com/story/news/fac… It appears the entire article is a response to a Facebook post by @RyanAFournier that the Chauvin trial was a form of "mob justice." That's just Fournier's opinion, of course, and he said as much when USA Today's "fact-checker" weirdly contacted him for comment. 2/6

What's described in this affidavit from former Michigan Asst Attorney General Zachary Larsen corroborates what I heard from Van Buren County Treasurer and volunteer GOP poll challenger Trisha Nesbitt, that absentee ballots were being counted for voters who were not on the rolls. Here is Nesbitt in her own words -

"History supports Republicans filling the seat." @baseballcrank with the definitive case for Trump to nominate, and the GOP-controlled Senate to confirm, the SCOTUS seat vacated by the recent death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. nationalreview.com/2020/08/histor… Includes a handy historical reference chart:

I appreciate the chance to state my case for preserving our historical monuments in @USATODAY, but I have to say the editorial here is intellectually dishonest, as if the mobs are only tearing down Confederate statues. That's not what's happening. Thread.. usatoday.com/story/opinion/… But you'd never know that from this editorial, which doesn't acknowledge or mention any of the NON-Confederate statues that have been pulled down by mobs in recent weeks: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ulysses S. Grant, and many more. 2/

Quick thread on the new Quinnipiac poll on @tedcruz - @BetoORourke #txsen race: It shouldn't be so surprising that Cruz is up 54-45, that's the same spread for the Quinnipiac poll as in Sept and Cruz has consistently led by 5+ points in other polls. 1/ poll.qu.edu/texas/release-… 2/ Also should not surprise that Cruz is capturing nearly 40% of the Hispanic vote. That's about the avg for GOP candidates in TX. Hispanics who vote in TX tend to be more R-leaning than many in the MSM suppose.

Quick thread here on Alaska and liberal condescension. So this lady from New Jersey, an environmental activist, thinks she's going to unseat Rep. Don Young, the longest-serving member EVER of the US House, without ever setting foot in Alaska. 1/ 2/ As an Alaskan, let me just say that the idea is so absurd and insulting that it's just straight-up self parody on this woman's part. Among Alaskans, Don Young is known for his loyalty to his state and his fellow Alaskans.

Not that it should surprise anyone, but the reporting on family separation at the border has been pretty shoddy and incomplete. 1/ 2/ What few outlets are reporting is that prior to this family separation policy, families caught crossing illegally that tried to claim asylum were released within a few days. The parents were given ankle monitors and told to report to an asylum hearing months away.
