It's difficult for me to articulate my thoughts about the increasing & escalating anti-Asian attacks. To be honest, I was scared to tweet because of how complicated the situation is. This requires nuance, which is especially hard to have right now & we Americans are so bad at it. There is significant anti-Blackness in the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) community. We APIDAs need to do better and take intentional and deliberate steps to be actively anti-racist. We started making moves this summer and there is more work to be done.

Hey y'all! I'm Naomi Ko and I am one of the organizers for the #StartWith8Hollywood initiative, which pairs female-identifying filmmakers of color with mentors, gatekeepers, and decision makers.
