Freshers, I think you’ll be better off in the long run if you focus on discovering what problems excite you, rather than blindly chasing skills. If you want to explore problems, check out @vaibhavbetter’s portfolio for one line descriptions of what companies do.

I’m sure 90% of these things will bounce over your head…

Ask yourself ‘why are others excited about this problem??’

Alright, let's fucking do this!

I strongly believe that quality biz education can change the trajectory of the nation.

Schools and colleges have failed us. MBA loans are deadly.

Enter stoaschool.com, the game-changer.

This is what's in store for you at @StoaHQ Image If you are from India, chances are that you've grown up privileged and sheltered.

Trying to earn while young was taboo. "You go study!" is what we're told.

Explains most of the STEM grads who at 22 realize that "oh fuck, there's more to this world than I knew"

What next?

Unpopular opinion time.

Being a generalist is overhyped right now. Many young folks use 'generalist' as an excuse to not bother developing a strong specialisation or heck, getting hands dirty.

No one's going to hire you for being a well read intellectual. Start executing. I know I'm mixing being a generalist with execution paralysis but that's what it largely ends up being.

Reading gives a cheap sense of accomplishment, quick dopamine hits. A good way of avoiding the pains of doing stuff, getting fucked and learning from those lessons.

Go do!

Who are some of the best writers on the Indian tech startup scene?

Are you looking to break into this list? Read on! ✍️ As compared to the US ecosystem, we're low on the number of investors, founders and operators who publish their thoughts.

If anything, this is an opportunity for sharp thinkers in India to establish their brand.

One comprehensive post can change your career trajectory.

Creators who have built an audience can use tools to make it easy to do what they do best.

But is that all that they can do with the audience that they have built?

Knowledge creators have a lot to learn from promoter-influencers who have built out massive business empires.. Image Creators are Schelling points for their domains.

Passion economy folks gather around @ljin18, fintech: @iankar_, marketing: @harrydry, EdTech: @albertoarenaza.

I sense a rise of biz-in-a-box platforms/services helping these creators serve the varied needs of their audience.

Serious talk.

Few people have very high tolerance / insensitivity to pain.

I have the same relationship with stress.

I don't 'feel' stress.

Working & living the way I do is the only way I know. Being stressed is the norm, not an anomaly I can detect.

Sucks ☹️

Read on 👇🏽 @krishna06's cat, Kat I'm no stranger to rather chronic problems such as GERD/IBS, stiff / twitching / spasming muscles, resulting tingling sensations...+ depression, anxiety that adds to the loop

After reading @dunkhippo33's post on stress, I realised that I am not alone 👇🏽

I am very excited by the rise of Productised Services / XaaS (Anything as a Service)!

This soft on-ramp to entrepreneurship presents a favorable opportunity for Indian entrepreneurs to start businesses catering to the global audience. Investors ought to check out what @tylertringas has been up to with @earnestcapital.

The combination of productised services, bootstrapping, and investing with returns pegged against founder earnings is likely to be the dominant mode of funding internet businesses of the 2020s.

I have had a love-hate relationship with the USA over the last 4 years.

Now is an interesting time to explore what all I've experienced, learned and where we Indians stand as of today.

2016: I was busy applying for a Ph.D. in String Theory / Cosmology in the US.. Since my uncle migrated to the US in the early 90s, going to the US (the mecca of media, SciTech progress) was THE dream.

I had little clue about how markets and demand/supply rule. As it turned out, relying on something as abstruse as theoretical physics wasn't a sane bet.

For your benefit, I am putting down the major takeaways from @APompliano's interview of @PeterZeihan.

Geography, Population and demographics, politics, trade relations, and how they impact the global economy.

Due to their demographics, developed countries are saving and investing heavily in their retirement. Developing countries are young, meant to be consuming heavily.

Capital from the west seeks high returns, is invested in driving consumption in the east.

It's time we accept that the pandemic has left a dent in our collective growth and prosperity. There's a cost to pay.

The big question right now is about how the bill will be split across nations and socioeconomic stratas. The costs associated are in terms of health (sickness, deaths due to COVID-19, deaths due to other illnesses not getting attention) as well as the economy (unemployment, decimation of businesses, crushed plans and momentum).

Goa's economy is on its death-bed

The next few months will probably see 50%+ unemployment in the state.

A thread on what got us here, steps to get out 🧵👇🏽

cc : @visrane @goacm @RohanKhaunte #COVID19 Assumption: Goa's state borders aren't going to be fully opened to visitors till India / the western countries can contain the virus.

I estimate that it'll take at least 12 months for borders to fully open up, 24 - 48 months for tourist traffic to pick up to 2019 levels.

We at @endCOVID19 wrote an open letter to all District Magistrates / Collectors in India on the steps to take to END the coronavirus outbreak in India.

Highlighting the key pointers in this thread, do RT 🧵👇🏽

covid19control.substack.com/p/zoning-and-t…

cc: @sriramchs @amritasukrity @balajis Some context :

Districts are kinda the fundamental administrative unit in India. District magistrates have the right mix of on-ground insights, authority, and leverage to contain the outbreak in their territory.

Hence, we're focusing on the ~700 districts to drive this fight.
