On 28/11 the COVI Committee extended a 2nd invitation to Pfizer CEO @AlbertBourla to clarify the vaccine contract negotiations between the @EU_Commission and @pfizer during an exchange of views. Last Friday Dr. Bourla declined this invitation. 🧵
As Committee Chair, I deeply regret Dr. Bourla’s refusal. The EU has spent a lot of public resources on vaccine production & purchase. The EP has the right to obtain full transparency on the modalities of these expenditures and the preliminary negotiations leading up to them.

Zowel @de_NVA als #VlaamsBelang trachten de afgelopen dagen de bevolking op te jutten met verhalen als zou de EU massaal geld uittrekken voor landen als Marokko of Tunesië in de strijd tegen #COVID19, terwijl EU lidstaten of regio’s nauwelijks op een habbekrats kunnen rekenen.
