Ever since #COVID19 began spreading in #Maldives the need of the hour has been emergency measures to control the spread & to mitigate the impact on lives & livelihoods.

2. Cops who are video-taped torturing a suspect try to intimidate witnesses & destroy evidence

& the answer is: give cops even MORE powers & remove what little controls there are on police abuse of power? Why? If the same twisted reasoning were applied in other types of cases, would we see child protection laws changed to force victims of abuse back into their abusers' hands?

"No!" you shout? Why not, especially when passion overcomes reason? Is the current law really the problem?
