These STRONG MEN: Muhammadu Buhari & Professor Yemi Osinbajo met what it appears this admin wished it met. A hopeless situation.

Pensions, & pensioners were in a hopelessly catastrophic situation.

ALL states of the federation were crumbling. Some, actually already crumbled.
1/
Barely 1/4 of the 36 states were managing to pay salaries. In whatever form or format.

Buhari/Osinbajo admin had to BAIL OUT all the states.

Pensions were straightened out & given a semblance of sanity. More needs to be done. But foundation has been laid.

Mr President @MBuhari

Let me start by thanking you for being you, & remaining who you essentially are, all through your years of public service, but especially these past 8 years you served as POFRON.

I do not have even the tiniest shred of doubt history will be kind to you.
1/
In fact, if anything, I’m unequivocally convinced that in the matter between ‘you’ (@MBuhari) & ‘history’, it will be you that will be kind to history when, in the future, you eventually elect to write about your time in office during these defining years of Nigeria’s history.

I seek to trace the novel features under which despotism may appear in the world. The first thing that strikes the obervation is an innumerable mulitude of men, all equal & alike, incessantly endeavouring to procure the petty & paltry pleasures with which they glut their lives

Each of them, living apart, is a stranger to the fate of all the rest; his children & his private friends constitute to him the whole of mankind. As for the rest of his fellow citizens, he is close to them, but he doesn’t see them; he touhes them, but he doesn’t feel them; he

In remembrance of the catastrophic losses the thoughtlessly senseless attempted coup of January 15, 1966 brought on the North, & to keep memories of those lost alive, this a presentation of some of the finest moments of some of the illustrious sons lost to the tragedy.

You blame any & every thing, EXCEPT the actual person who pushed a people into a needless suffering.

And who during the unfolding tragedy determinedly refused several offers of negotiations for a MERCY CORRIDOR.

Therefore guaranteeing the needless suffering of said people. But as determined as you can be on that mission, the TRUTH is equally, if not more determined to get itself out.

Again, history might’ve been knocked off schools curricula, but it wasn’t erased or wiped out.

So …

Bedevilled by its unfortunate historical chapter as ‘important centre for slave trade’, that perhaps left it enslaved in a tangled vision, it is, even now, still struggling to ‘emerge’. Abeokuta

Looking back, it’s amusing to think all the nonsense about RUGA as a policy were inspired by
1. Samuel Ortom
2. Darius Ishaku

The one borne by gerrymandering then btw him & Audu Ogbeh, & the other just adhering to his gutless littleness; perhaps influenced by his ‘Teleprompter’. Tbh, I’ve seen some unbelievably ludicrous arguments on, or about the RUGA initiative; but none will beat the one that, based on a projection off the plan for the Bobi Grazing Reserve in Niger State, with a 30k ha land mass, that 216 new FULANI LGAs will emerge in Nigeria.

There are always just ONLY two sides to every issue; one is right, the other wrong. If you then create a 'middle', you're nothing but pure evil.

Ok, maybe in the case of 'Twitter Fencists', they're not exactly 'pure' evil. They're adulterated evil, which in my view is much worse Cos to go rogue on choice shouldn’t entirely condemn one. I mean, one retains some respect for ‘truth’; at least for accepting responsibility for the choice.

But the one who opts for a MIDDLE is a "knave who blanks out truth in order to pretend that no choices or values exist".

So, about my thoughts on why living costs, especially cost of food stuff, have risen to almost unbearable levels, here we go ... #Thread Unfortunately, due to ‘forces beyond our control’ (apologies Gov Sanwo-Olu) & those ‘we’ actively created (no thanks to peaceful & not-so-peaceful protesters), cost of living, even at basic level; feeding & transportation, has astronomically risen.

The ‘why’ is not far fetched.

There are questions on the 1966 ‘coup’ that I’ve only come across mumbo-jumbo attempts at answers to; they include:
1. If the stated’ obj of the ‘coup’ was what it was, & that failed; why did Nwafor Orizu effectively suspend the constitution & ‘invite’ Aguiyi-Ironsi to take-over? 2. As Dr Azikiwe, then President, was away & Nwafor Orizu was Ag President, why was he NOT a target of the coup?

I’m yet to come across any account that comprehensively explains his circumstance when the dead-beat of a coup attempt was unfolding. Where was he? What was he doing?

In 1976, Carlo M. Cipolla, a professor of economic history at University of California, Berkeley published an essay outlining the fundamental laws of a force he perceived as humanity’s greatest existential threat: Stupidity.

Thread .. Stupid people, he explained, share some identifying traits: they
- are abundant
- are irrational
- cause problems for others without apparent benefit to themselves, thereby lowering society’s total well-being.

There are no defenses against stupidity, he argued. He died in 2000

Before you come on the TL ranting about a budget, & calling it a scam, the least you should’ve done to yourself is have an understanding of the difference between an ACTIVITY BASED budget & a ZERO BASED budget. From even the most basic level, an understanding of the difference would’ve had you know ZERO-BASED budgeting allocates resources based on NEEDS & COSTS of the budgeter; while ACTIVITY-BASED budgeting allocates resources based on ‘efficiencies in business operations’ of budgeter.
