THREAD: The UN Special Committee investigating Israel’s practices published its report yesterday concluding that Israel’s warfare in Gaza is consistent with the characteristics of genocide. Most notably, it sheds light on some of Israel’s digital warfare over the past year. First, the Committee sounds the alarm over Israel’s use of AI systems, “which rely on mass surveillance to process large volumes of data,” to direct its military campaign in Gaza—which have disproportionately increased civilian casualties and caused indiscriminate loss of life.

The Israeli army is now using an AI-powered automatic weapon, called Smart Shooter, at a military checkpoint in the old city of Hebron.

BREAKING: Meta's human rights due diligence report is out today, confirming the company's censorship has violated Palestinian human rights.

According to a reporter accompanying Shireen when she was shot, she was not only wearing a press vest but also a helmet.
