Absolutely stunning investigation by NPR into the racist, antisemitic, misogynist roots of “porn addiction” junk science — the very stuff being peddled by antipoorn groups in order to pass age-verification bills and other censorship.

It’s all nonsense. npr.org/2026/01/01/119… If you’ve ever struggled to explain or debate the “porn is bad” crowd, personally or professionally, this is about a good a takedown as you’re going to get from a national publication. Image

Project 2025, a coalition of leading conservative groups, has mapped out its plan for the first days following a Republican Presidential victory:

*Outlaw porn
*Imprison those who create or sell it
*Shut down internet providers who allow it

Image And, of course, when they say "porn" they mean ANY information related to LGBTQ+ lives. (I'm not being hyperbolic here — they want librarians to be registered as sex offenders)

These are the same groups pushing to have you submit your ID to look at porn ... so you do the math.

I hear this argument A LOT from censorship advocates, usually in regards to liquor or Playboy, not spray paint — so let’s quickly tackle this, shall we? Image When you buy liquor (or spray paint, who knew?) you flash your ID. It's quick, it's easy and it's free. If this all that was required of adult sites, I don't think there would be any complaint.

But that's not what's happening.

Mindgeek’s 3 lawsuits against German regulator KJM were dismissed yesterday by a German court. KJM — which has threatened adult creators on Twitter with arrest — says they’ll proceed with a nationwide block of their domains. Only it’s not that easy… 1/ computerbild.de/artikel/cb-New… First, because telecom companies are largely unwilling to get roped the German regulator's sex censorship campaign. One is even suing. 2/ spiegel.de/netzwelt/netzp…

Legislators in Alabama want to force Apple, Samsung, Google and Jitterbug to mandate that phones, tablets and laptops come with porn filters on and activated — whether you want it or not.

Republicans: the party of personal responsibility.
al.com/news/2023/04/b… Now, device level filters are shockingly effective. They're also super easy to use. Which is why it's stunning to think that they can not trust someone buying a device to decide whether or not to turn it on.

You want to really deprive El No of income, without depriving marginalized communities of one of their only chances to be visible? #BlockTheBlue selectively (fascists! trolls!) and block advertisers aggressively.

Sacrificing SWers voices is not the answer. Twitter is one of the only platforms where people who trade sex or make adult content have ANY voice. And even here, they're constantly shadowbanned and harassed. Protect yourself by all means, but understand that a flat #blocktheblue is a campaign of erasure.

New audio recordings in the Abby Grossman suit reveal Tucker Carlson calling sex workers "slutty and pathetic" ... and in the next breath defending child marriage and fantasizing about underage girls.

These assholes really work to top themselves, but they always do. Image What's "slutty and pathetic" is selling your soul to a billionaire mogul, only to have him dump you when you cost him too much money.

They’re finally doing it — Texas is reviving the Comstock Act, which bans the mailing of anything related to contraception and abortion. And porn. And sex toys. And anything else the American Taliban finds “immoral” under his eye. For those not aware, the Comstock Act was a series of 19th c. federal laws prohibiting the use of the mail to send books, ads, medicine, tools or any 'thing' that "can, be used or applied for producing abortion, or for any indecent or immoral purpose" law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18…

A lot of people are going to be watching "Money Shot" tonight. Many of the claims in the doc — especially those from the evangelical #traffickinghub campaign — are confusing or deceitful. If you're not familiar with the industry, here's what you need to know: 1/ The #traffickinghub campaign is not neutral. It is the byproduct of an evangelical ministry, International House of Prayer (IHOP!)) of Kansas City. Exodus Cry, the org behind the hashtag, emerged from an IHOP prayer session. 2/

So good to be in a room with so many of the strongest defenders of our rights —@thesiridahl @GwenAdora @TheBreeMills @GustavoTurnerX @allieeveknox @AsaAkira @CherieDeVille @NATASSIADREAMSX, onscreen and off — watching NCOSE squirm and Exodus Cry be exposed for charlatans. Image It's incumbent upon all of us to push back against the #traffickinghub narrative created by evangelical Christians like Exodus Cry. It is and always has been a front to censor — or in their words, the abolition — of sexually explicit media.

🚨 German creators posting on @Twitter are getting hit with large fines and potential criminal penalties, as the country's new "age verification" mechanism springs into action. Since Twitter do not verify visitors' age, posting on the site leaves creators legally liable. About a year ago, @WIRED's @mattburgess1 reported on 60 or so German accounts being shut down by @Twitter after notifications from the German government. Since then, there have been sporadic reports of adult creators getting hit with large fines. wired.com/story/twitter-…

Anti-trans "LGB without the T" activists now coming for asexuals. SWERFS/TERFS are becoming increasingly hostile to any articulation of sexuality that's different than theirs, positioning them as a threat to whatever gains they've secured. Disgusting. Image It's a playbook. An unending series of pathologizing ("they're damaged, they need treatment"), denial ("they have no oppression"), fear ("they're pedos claiming this to get close to us"), and greed ("they're diluting Pride"). And, of course, intimations of child grooming. ImageImageImageImage

This is the head of public policy at NCOSE theorizing that the legal adult industry turned a man into a pedophile — thus absolving him of blame. It’s absolutely bonkers, and why faith-based organizations are ill-equipped to handle abuse. This is the same thinking that was used to absolve Josh Duggar and countless sex abuse scandals in the church, as well as justify the Atlanta massage parlor murders. By externalizing it to some immoral outside force, they excuse and enable it.

Louisiana has quietly passed a bill allowing parents to sue companies and creators who post porn on social media sites (or really, anywhere on the internet).

"Act 440" has been signed into law by the Governor, and takes effect on Jan 1.

legis.la.gov/legis/BillInfo… The law was introduced earlier this year by a Baptist sex addiction therapist who believes that porn is a public health crisis.

Similar to the TX abortion law, it uses civil lawsuits to get around the 1st Amendment concerns.

They actually can.

Lawrence v TX — which Thomas explicitly wrote was one of the next 3 to fall — prevented the state from prosecuting private sexual acts. It rests on the same principle as Roe.

Same with Stanley v GA, which allowed private possession of pornography. People don't realize that as late as 1989, LA police would arrest you for shooting porn. The FBI would prosecute you for sending it through the mail. For decades, people sold it out of the back of their cars, or under counters, and went to jail for years.

Maybe this moves the apolitical wankers:

The "right to privacy" in Roe is the same right to privacy that overturned Stanley v Georgia, in which police arrested Robert Stanley for possession of porn — in his own home.

SCOTUS don't think you have a right to watch porn. All of this stuff is connected and coordinated Groups like NCOSE are just one part of a broader attack on sexual rights. You just have to look at funders and staff and board members.

Yesterday, @NCOSE hosted its annual "Dirty Dozen" event, highlighting the 12 corporations they believe are driving sexual exploitation gloally and boy was it wacky.

Some highlights? Well, they inducted @ETSY for selling sexy t-shirts and figurines. 1/ And then Netflix, for using the word "sex worker" — which they feel is some sort of slur against the people they term "prostituted women" 🙄

A @nytimes oped claims @FSCArmy's 2002 Supreme Court victory was about the right to "virtual child p*********y" and that it was bad for the "Common good."

This is a claim I hear a lot from antis, so let's break it down. 1/

nytimes.com/2022/02/03/opi… Here's the actual claim, as made in the op-ed. Free Speech Coalition v Ashcroft was incorrectly decided because society is helped if even simulated CSAM or cartoon drawings of it are outlawed. That might be true, and is an argument for another day, BUT ... 2/ Image

Exodus Cry has released a trailer for Benjamin Nolot's new film "Raised on Porn," which comes out on Thursday. It argues that porn has destroyed a generation, calling it "the greatest unregulated social experiment in history." 1/
The claim? That for the past 10-20 years, the availability of free online porn has warped a generation's brain, causing them to become addicted to sex, and thus objectify and attack women. The only problem? The actual evidence. 2/

This is great reporting by @ejdickson, but whatever editor decided to declare Mercedes an "OnlyFans Influencer" is perpetuating stigma. Mercedes was an major IG influencer with millions of followers who happened to also have an OF account. rollingstone.com/culture/cultur… Her murderer followed her on IG, and allegedly killed her following a IG post. Aside from a small mention of OF — her father thinks it's possible he could have been uncovered her address through a gift — it's the most minor part of the story.

Wishlists aren't exclusive to OF. Image
