Pakistan is gradually moving towards restoring pre-COVID normalcy. It is important that decisions, especially those pertaining to health & safety of our children, are based on observations and scientific data compiled & reported from all over the world and not on unfounded fear. Studies specifically looking at children & adolescents younger than 18yrs of age, suggest COVID-19 transmission among children in schools may be low. Most children if infected, have milder disease pattern, less severity b/c of lower susceptibility to SARS-CoV2 compared to adults.

Please do not create panic and avoid naming #coronavirus patients. There are many respiratory viruses and pathogens which affect people throughout the year. #Covid19 is one of the viruses circulating at the moment. It causes mild infection in a large majority of cases. #Pakistan Everyone please follow simple measures like keeping hands clean and keeping them away from face, nose and lips, avoiding crowded places are important. Wearing a regular surgical mask is useful provided one avoids the urge of touching and adjusting it frequently. #coronavirus
