A thing I can’t stop thinking about is how so much force is enacted to try to make Black people behave.

From what I witnessed in schools I can confidently say that every white institution is wedded to this ideology. Let me give you an example: one year, a lot of the black boys at my school where I was an assistant principal were wearing sweatbands. You know, like LeBron James.

Since I have to wait for 10 minutes after this 2nd vaccine I will share things I’ve been pondering. It’ll be a #thread.

Friends have asked me to share this doctoral journey. It starts when I was a teenager. In 10th grade, my guidance counselor called me into her office one day. Every student had a folder and she’d pull it out when you visited. On that day, she waited until I sat down and set it in front of her, grabbed a pen, and dramatically crossed out the words “college bound”.

She said that my plans would now change.
