As standards of hygiene improve, vitamin B12 deficiency increases.

Stair climbing is an effective exercise for building bone density due to several biomechanical and physiological reasons:
Weight-Bearing Activity:
Stair climbing is a weight-bearing exercise, meaning you carry your body weight while moving against gravity. Weight-bearing activities are critical for bone health because they stimulate the bones to become denser and stronger.
When you climb stairs, each step you take forces your body to support your weight, which in turn signals the bones to adapt by increasing their density over time.
Impact and Stress:
Each step involves a small degree of impact and stress on the bones, particularly in the legs (tibia, fibula, femur) and the spine. This mechanical stress triggers a process called osteogenesis where new bone tissue is formed. The body responds to the stress by laying down more bone material to make the bones stronger, which is beneficial for preventing conditions like osteoporosis.
Choose stair-climbing every alternate day or with a gap of 2 days between 2 stair-climbing sessions. Don't pay for gym membership. Get a good pair of shoes for stair-climbing.
I'm writing this thread because doctors make fun of patients who come with these complaints.
From my personal experience in my family, I also know that many doctors call such patients attention-seeking & hypochondriac. Let's go!
1. Start drinking chaas (buttermilk) and Lassi everyday. 2. Have curd/yoghurt with lunch and dinner. 3. This will send live bacteria into your gut everyday thus ensuring good number of beneficial bacterial colonies in the intestines. 4. Some bacteria make vit B12 & K in gut.

@NDDB_Coop@Dept_of_AHD@Amul_Coop@MotherDairyMilk@NestleMilks@NestleIndia We need this Iodine & Selenium warning on milk packs to educate the public against the #plantbased agenda before the fad comes here in India. I've edited the 3rd pic to show how the warning can be put.
Elimination of animal milk from the diet can significantly reduce iodine intake of a person. Iodine deficiency might not significantly impact the quality of life of a person but if a woman of a child-bearing age is iodine deficient, then she faces a high risk of miscarriage.

Back in college, I was once appearing for a viva vôce of an economics related subject. The examiner asked us an out-of-syllabus question, "Why do you think the govt gives subsidies for poultry industry?" I will remain forever grateful to my 🧠 for bringing up the answer! Tiny🧵👇🏼
For reasons I still do not understand, my brain remembered something we are taught in primary school. Kwashiorkor is a disease caused by severe protein deficiency. Shamefully, children still die due to it in India. After getting reminded of kwashiorkor, I connected the dots.

Why social media nutrition activism matters - a short thread ⬇️ A family member with a science degree was stunned to know about the sources of vitamin B12 .
I posted multiple stories about the animal sources of vitamin B12 on WhatsApp status. I love to use Canva & Adobe Express to make stories about cobalamin. I also explained that processed foods such as Kellogs cornflakes, Chocos, Horlicks, Boost, Marmite, etc have vitamin B-12.

A friend's 2 year old was limping every morning after leaving the bed. He would limp and look like he was going to faint, only for a few minutes. Then he would normalize. This went on for sometime & then they reported this to their paediatrician. #MedTwitter #NeuroTwitter
The paediatrician insisted that there was nothing wrong with the child and that he would not prescribe any tests. The parents were adamant about getting the child tested and hence the paediatrician referred them to a neurologist. The same scenario repeated itself. #MedTwitter
